For the DIM PAMIR Team

  • Enabling professional placements: for the awardees of the PhD and PostDoctoral projects, it could be valuable to explore the potential of enabling placements in the DIM PAMIR partner institutions to enable the early career researchers to further strengthen their skills and competencies within a professional environment. This could also open up future opportunities for employment.
  • Stimulating innovation and novel research: in addition to foundational research, it may be interesting for the DIM PAMIR Team to consider introducing a funding call SPARK programme may be a source of inspiration.
  • Linking to project results: the overview of the projects funded by the DIM PAMIR network is diverse, attractively displayed and impressive. In addition to the DIM PAMIR collection on the HAL Repository, it could be interesting to add links to the project results, e.g. final reports, thesis, created data banks, etc. on the project pages on the website? Knowing about these projects is great but it would be even better to have access to the results.

For both the DIM PAMIR Team and the Ile de France

  • Sustainability and long-term impact: the short and medium term impacts of the DIM PAMIR network are impressive and well-described. It may be interesting for the DIM PAMIR project team to consider the sustainability and long-term impact of the project. What actions could be undertaken towards the sustainability of the activities following this phase of funding? How can the longer-term impact be measured? Would using Impact Case Studies be an interesting approach to explore? These considerations also apply to the Ile de France, for example, how does the Ile de France consider the sustainability of research networks such as DIM PAMIR after the end of this phase of funding?

The questions in relation to sustainability could be explored in a number of areas, such as:

  • Access: How will access to the equipment after the end of the project be managed/provided? Will a rule be introduced for using the instrumentation? Shouldn’t contracts be established stipulating the rules for the use of instruments as defined at the outset, as access, financial participation?
  • Equipment: How will the equipment be upgraded and maintained?
  • Material Collections: What is the strategy related to the management of the collections in the future? Will this be undertaken through the networks of repositories, e.g. beDNA-Référentiel? What opportunities are there for collaboration with the Ministry of Culture to conserve and maintain these repositories?
  • Network: How could the partnerships initiated in the project be sustained? Are there bilateral agreements between specific labs in place?
  • Business Model: What is the current business model for providing access to the equipment? Is it free at the point of access for the network? What about providing access beyond the network? To what extent could the network be self-sustaining after the end of the project?
  • Policy: What are the plans of Ile de France after this period of funding? What are the contractual obligations for DIM PAMIR after the end of the project? How do the activities of DIM PAMIR contribute beyond the regional level, e.g., nationally? internationally?
