Summary :
The 11th conference of the French radiocarbon network: analysis and interpretation (REFRAIN) is the annual meeting of the French scientific community working on radiocarbon and its applications. Through conferences, poster presentations, and Q&A sessions, this event allows radiocarbon users to share their recent advancements, from new methods to applications of radiocarbon in various scientific fields. Highly interdisciplinary, the 11th REFRAIN conference promotes interactions between various disciplines, notably archaeology, geology, environmental sciences, and climate sciences.
The 11th REFRAIN conference will be hosted by the Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées de France (C2RMF), located in the Louvre Palace in Paris. Founded on December 16th, 1998, the C2RMF is a national service of the French Ministry of Culture. It is the national operator in the field of research and restoration of heritage material belonging to French museums. Specifically, it is responsible for radiocarbon dating activity of such material, collaboratively with the national instrument ARTEMIS and the Laboratoire de Mesure du Carbone 14.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées de France (C2RMF), 1st arrondissement of Paris. Registration is free and open to all, specialists or users of radiocarbon, as well as those wishing to learn more about the possibilities offered by the method. Participation and contributions from young scientists and staff of French museums are highly encouraged. Both registration and submission of proposals must be completed on the conference website: https://refrain11.sciencesconf.org/. The deadline is November 15, 2024.
